The Vale College, Ibadan has concluded plans to offer scholarships to indigent students worth N12 million per student. Funso Ademola, educationist and founder of the College disclosed this today at a media parley in Lagos. The College runs both Nigerian and British curricula driven by a child-centred education philosophy.
Quality childhood education experts say lays the foundation for all future personal and societal achievements. Most parents in a quest to meet the challenges throw at them spare little time for their children, endangering the children’s future prospects.
Vale College offers opportunities that help parents deal with deficiencies in character and learning. A visit to the school reveals co-curricular activities like elocution and public speaking, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and entrepreneurship, which prepare students for life beyond school.
Some scholarships available at the College include: Scholarship for the Best Student in Character and Learning in Memory of Babatude Ige; Bola Ige Memorial Scholarship for brilliant, indigent public primary school pupils and Atinuke Ige memorial scholarship for brilliant, indigent public secondary school students.
