The platform was set up to help Nigerians at home as it has helped over 3,000 Nigerians in diaspora earn up to £11,000 a month on project management or business analysis professionals working for major multinationals.
Speaking to journalists during the free onboarding and induction session in Lagos, Keji Giwa, CEO, Digital Bananas technologies, a UK based company said the decision to avail Nigerians of this platform is to help interested individuals be part of over 3,000 ecosystem of professionals and work on innovative live digital projects all from the convenience of their home while being trained on the job with full work experience reference from its parent company in the UK, Digital Bananas Technology.
Giwa disclosed that the platform can help Nigerians secure a project management or business analysis role with digital transformation and disruptive technology experience enabling them to work in the UK, US, Canada, Dubai or with major multinationals in Nigeria who are heavily investing within the digital space.
“We will be working closely with our visa partnering companies to help those of you that aim to seek employment abroad”, he said
He further said that in order to help boost job creation in Nigeria, there will also be an investment pot totaling up to £100,000 available to invest in the disruptive technology ideas of Nigerians who can create profitable, sustainable and scalable business models by following the Digital Bananas portfolio and programme management framework for qualifying and checking the viability of investment opportunities.
According to him, the company digital banana is positioned to provide practical work experience for people interested in becoming digital project managers and giving experience within the digital space, it equally provide digital solutions to companies that need digital solutions.
“Over the last ten years, we have focused on helping Nigerians who finds themselves in the UK with no work experience but wants to build a career. So through our training, we provide them with the work experience required to go out there and get a job within the digital space as project managers and digital analysts”
“We provide work experience that the next person does not have that gives the candidates a competitive advantage over the others. We missed out in the industrial revolution, Nigerians must not miss out in the digital revolution”, he said.
Giwa further pointed out that the decision to create a platform that links people in Nigeria to people in the UK at the same time enable them to get the same level of experience at a fraction of the cost.
According to him, “In the UK we charge 810 naira (1,790 pounds) that is a lot of money for the average Nigeria. We are here to focus on the masses and give them something affordable which was why we created the subscription based system where we charge 39 thousand naira which is a massive gap from what we charge in the UK.
“The subscription method of payment allows for split payment. So individual can pay the subscription fees for as long they need it”. He said
He noted that other benefit of this is that when a participant become a product champion, which mean such an individual have learnt enough and are now adding value to other people, such individual will stop paying the fees.
