Over 20,000 exhibitors are expected at the maiden edition of the Ceralight Africa 2016 expo which will hold at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, from August 24 – 26.
Event organisers, 151 Products Limited said the expo is dedicated to ceramics, tiles, sanitary wares, lightening, plumbing & electrical consumables, and home decor products and services and will be a networking platform for business development across value chains in real estate.
At a media presentation of the event at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce, Victoria Island, Lagos, recently, Ugo Nwabuisi, chief executive of 151 Products, a global business events and network platform said, “the objective of Ceralight Africa is to provide opportunity for the public to promote their businesses via meaningful networking with local and international manufacturers.
The event with the theme: Networking for quality, elegance & manufacturing partnerships, according to the organisers signifies their intention to bring together players in the industry to address the challenge of knowledge and skill gap and network to broaden the N20billion industry.
Nwabuisi said the event is organised in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Ceramic Researchers Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Architects, Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
Representatives from the chambers of commerce and business interests of Germany, Vietnam, French, and Belgium and industry operators were also at the unveiling of the event to the press.
Agatha Udorie, chief executive of Agatha’s Interior Design limited charged the event organisers to use the event to address the yawning skill gap in the industry.
Esther Gambe, representative of the Franco-Nigerian chambers of commerce also said that her organisation would be at the event to promote trade and commerce between France and Nigeria.
“Our focus is on improving on the quality and packaging of the Nigerian products to place it at the level of the products being imported in the country.”
The event organisers also said it will provide a platform to address the infiltration of counterfeit products in the market with the presence of regulatory authorities.
