Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is reportedly a target for Tunisia as the Carthage Eagles search for a new coach to lead the national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chelle has emerged as one of the most sought-after coaches on the African continent following Nigeria’s impressive performances at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles reached the semi-finals.
Reports indicate that the Tunisian Football Federation is prepared to offer Chelle a monthly salary of $100,000 to take charge of the Carthage Eagles ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

Former Super Eagles media officer Peterside Idah has claimed that Chelle is considering quitting his role as Nigeria’s head coach after the 2025 AFCON. According to Idah, the lucrative financial package on offer from Tunisia is a major attraction.
Idah also suggested that Tunisia’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup could further tempt Chelle to accept the offer.
Speaking on Channels Television, Idah said: “I hear he wants to go to Tunisia. They have offered him $100,000 per month. Beyond the money, he will also be making a name for himself as the coach of a World Cup-bound team.”
The Super Eagles’ final match at the AFCON will be the third-place playoff against Egypt on Saturday.
