…Accuse Fubara, deputy of not remorseful
The 26 lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA), who seemed to have broken into different camps, have reunited and regrouped to pursue the impeachment push against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
The lawmakers stood in the open on Friday morning to address newsmen, declaring a united stand to press on with impeachment of Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, a Professor.
The lawmakers read through an address reportedly signed by all the lawmakers, including the four that had taken a different stand to call for peaceful resolution of the crisis.
This time, all the 26 called for go-ahead in the impeachment move and mandated the speaker, Martins Amaewhule, to see the impeachment move to the end.

The address read by Sylvanus Nwankwo from Omuma State Constituency, accused the governor and his deputy of about seven impeachable offences, bordering on governor’s attitude to the impeachment motion.
The statement said the duo did not show remorse and did not respond to the charges.
They said the governor was rather using sponsored media to attack the lawmakers and ridicule the Assembly, despite the fact that the governor has no press secretary nor commissioner of information.
BusinessDay gathers that many people have rather accused the governor of not giving access to media for interviews or clarifications.
The lawmakers said the governor was not talking to anybody, but was using silence to fight back. They said the governor was expecting people to pressure the lawmakers to stop the impeachment, but vowed not to stand down on this at their third attempt in two years.
They accused the governor of being a big threat to democracy and constitutional governance.

The Amaewhule-led Assembly had earlier accused the governor of courting the court to obtain counter order, but warned all courts in the State to steer clear of the crisis.
Some sources said the four lawmakers that earlier appealed for restraint and withdrawal of impeachment notice against the governor and his deputy might be part of a bigger strategy to get the impeachment plot going by creating impression of a division.
This may have been created to disarm the governor into thinking the impeachment was failing.
A source pointed to the fact that one of the lawmakers calling for no impeachment is from Obio/Akpor, the home of Nyesom Wike, believed to be the mastermind of the push to remove Fubara.
The source said “it is unthinkable that such a lawmaker would stand against the impeachment move.
