…says Atiku will repeat 2023 loss in Rivers
Following growing calls for the sack of Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister over the recurring political misunderstanding between Wike’s camp and the of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Rivers State, Wike has declared that President Bola Tinubu has the right to sack him as minister if he so wishes.
The minister noted that the belief he had with Bola Tinubu, a Presidential Candidate in 2023 led himself and his political camp in Rivers State to give Tinubu a full support before, during and after the Presidential Poll.
Wike was speaking at the grand finale of his ‘Thank you’ tour of Local Government Areas in Rivers State, which took place at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola on Sunday.

The minister, who was accompanied by high-profile members of the Renewed Hope family in Rivers State, including factional chairmen of the State chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stressed that the support given to Tinubu by the Renewed Hope family, which he leads led to the President’s victory in 2023.
“So, like the Minority leader (Kingsley Chinda, member, House of Representatives) said, we never signed an agreement with the president (in 2023). We never sat down with Mr President. All Mr President told us, ‘Support us, you will not regret it.’ And for the support and the glory of God, he saw what we did,” he said.
Wike said Tinubu had reciprocated the support given to him, which had prompted appointments as minister and other support to Rivers people.
Wike said the President would receive similar support, while taking a swipe at supporters of the PDP Presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whom, he said, could only deliver 10% votes for him in Rivers State.

He suggested that Atiku, who had defected to the ADC, would suffer similar fate in Rivers State if he emerged Presidential candidate of the party in 2027.
Martin Amaewhule, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, whose members are embroiled in a face-off with Siminalayi Fubara, the State Governor, declared Wike as their political leader.
Amaewhule, who is an indigene of Obio/Akpor LGA just as the FCT minister, the factional chairmen of the PDP and APC, Reps member Chinda, and others, said Wike has their full support in the task of ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election.
