Kayode Egbetokun, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has ordered the deployment of a newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) and 17 Commissioners of Police to strategic departments, commands and formations across the country.
The directive, announced in a statement on Tuesday by Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, is part of ongoing efforts by the police high command to reposition the Force for improved service delivery and enhanced internal efficiency.
Under the new postings, Mohammed Gumel (DIG) has been deployed to head the Force Intelligence Department (FID), a critical unit responsible for intelligence gathering, analysis and coordination in support of police operations nationwide.

At the command level, Aina Adesola
has been posted to the Delta State Police Command, Umar Hajedia to the Kebbi State Police Command, while Iyamah Edobor will now oversee the Bayelsa State Police Command.
Several Commissioners of Police were also assigned to specialised departments and formations within the Force. Osagie Agans-Irabor was appointed Commissioner of Police, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos, while Johnson Babalola was deployed to the Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja. Adepegba Adetoye will serve as Commissioner of Police, Marine Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
In the area of training and capacity development, Tabitha Bako was posted as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Kaduna, while Umar Ali Fagge assumed duties as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja. Samuel Yerima was appointed Coordinator of Courses at the Police Staff College, Jos, while Richard Gara was deployed to the Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters.
Other postings include Audu Garba Bosso as Commissioner of Police, General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna; Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha as Commissioner of Police, Community Policing, Force Headquarters, Abuja; and Arikpo Ofem Ikpi as Commissioner of Police, Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Cyril Uchenna Obiozo was posted to the Maritime Command, Lagos, while Lasisi Titilola was appointed Commissioner of Police, Railway Command, Lagos. Mohammed Danlandi will now head the X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna, and Obuagbaka John was deployed as Commissioner of Police, Safer Highway, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP charged the newly deployed senior officers to bring their wealth of experience and professional expertise to bear in their new assignments.
He emphasised the need for purposeful, result-oriented leadership, strict adherence to the rule of law, and the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.
According to the police leadership, the deployments will enhance coordination, improve operational outcomes and further strengthen public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
