Turkish champions Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika following his impressive performances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The 24-year-old was the architect of Nigeria’s 3-1 victory over Uganda in their final Group C match on Tuesday, scoring two well-taken goals to secure his side’s perfect group-stage record.
That “Man of the Match” performance has accelerated interest from Istanbul, as coach Okan Buruk looks to bolster his midfield for a domestic and European title charge.

However, Club Brugge, who are also competing in this season’s UEFA Champions League, are understood to be unwilling to part with the midfielder and are currently blocking any potential move.
According to Turkish news outlet Hurriyet, Galatasaray have submitted a formal offer for Onyedika, proposing a €3 million loan fee with a mandatory €17 million purchase option at the end of the season.
The bid was reportedly rejected, with Club Brugge insisting on a valuation closer to €28 million.
Onyedika, who is valued at €20 million on Transfermarkt, has made 24 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
He remains under contract with the Belgian club until 2027.
