The General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors and National Security Achievements Supporters in Media (CDPAANSAS) has launched a youth empowerment programme in Borno State, aimed at equipping young people with practical vocational skills to enhance economic self-reliance and promote sustainable livelihoods.
The programme, unveiled on Thursday, January 1, 2026, is focused on training youths in upholstery and interior decoration, in partnership with Bumba Furniture Ltd.
Beneficiaries were drawn from less-privileged backgrounds in Chikide, Johode and Kughum communities of Gwoza Local Government Area, North-East Nigeria.
Speaking at the launch, Adamugwoza Gwabin, Executive Director-General of the General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors, described the initiative as part of the organisation’s broader commitment to grassroots development, peacebuilding and post-conflict economic recovery.
He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to sponsor the beneficiaries and disclosed that the empowerment package for the programme is valued at ₦250,000.
Gwabin urged the trainees to take the opportunity seriously, stressing that dedication, focus and discipline would be critical to acquiring skills that could secure their future livelihoods.
“This empowerment programme is designed to give you practical skills that will make you self-reliant and productive members of society. We expect you to remain committed throughout the training period,” he said.
The Executive Director-General also commended the Chief Executive Officer of Bumba Furniture Ltd, for accepting the beneficiaries and partnering with CDPAANSAS to ensure the success of the initiative.
In his remarks, Idris Bumba praised the General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors for their sustained efforts in supporting community development at the grassroots.
He assured stakeholders that Bumba Furniture Ltd would provide the necessary technical support and conducive learning environment to ensure the objectives of the training programme are fully achieved.
Other officials present at the event included Buka Gatuwa, Vice Chairperson and Director of Contact and Mobilisation, who stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality and total commitment on the part of the trainees, noting that these qualities would determine the overall success of the programme.
Highlights of the event included the formal handover of trainee documentation to the CEO of Bumba Furniture Ltd, group photographs, and a guided tour of the furniture facility, where participants were introduced to basic tools, equipment and processes by a training officer.
The empowerment programme is being implemented under the guidance of the General CG Musa Community Development Peace Ambassadors and National Security Achievements Supporters in Media Platform (CDPAANSAS), a nationwide platform with presence across the 36 states of Nigeria.
