The Jigawa State Police Command has said that 18 people died, while two others are in critical condition, following a fatal multiple motor vehicle crash on Tuesday in the state.
Shiisu Lawan Adam, the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse.

According to the statement, “Today, Tuesday, 30th December, 2025, at about 1220hrs, an accident occurred at Danmasara Quarters, along Dutse-Kiyawa Road, Dutse LGA, where a white Golf 3 vehicle with reg. no. KYW 500 XA, while in motion, lost control, hit a street light, and swerved to the opposite lane and collided with another red Golf 3 with reg. no. RAN 836 XA, then an incoming Tipper truck with reg. no. BUU 289 XA crushed the two (2) vehicles.
“Sixteen (16) passengers lost their lives on the spot; another two reportedly died while receiving treatment at the hospital, while two are still alive.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that ten (10) males and eight (8) females were amongst the passengers that lost their lives as a result of the accident and they are from Fake village, Kiyawa LGA
“The Jigawa State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Dahiru Muhammad, condoled with the family and relatives of the deceased, sought Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for the departed souls, and also prayed for the injured ones to have a quick recovery. The CP also prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent another occurrence in the nearest future”, the statement read.
