Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez is the leading goalscorer at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco as the tournament heads into the decisive final round of group-stage matches.
The last set of group fixtures gets underway on Monday, with qualification still at stake for most teams and the prospect of late drama once again defining Africa’s flagship football competition.
Among those chasing Mahrez are several high-profile attackers who remain in contention to challenge for the Golden Boot as the group stage concludes.

With multiple teams still fighting for progression, the final group-stage fixtures from Monday to Wednesday are expected to have a significant impact on both qualification and the race for top scorer honours.
