The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has won the Federal Government Agency of the Year award from the Values for Affordable Education Foundation, a United States-based non-governmental organisation, in recognition of its role in advancing Nigeria’s automotive industry and promoting innovation.
The award was presented by the foundation, which focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education, mentorship and scholarships across Africa.
Explaining the decision, the foundation’s founder, Dr Bisi Adekoya, said NADDC was selected for what she described as sustained leadership and policy direction aimed at strengthening local automotive capacity and supporting a technology-driven economy.
According to Adekoya, the council has pursued initiatives designed to develop local talent, expand industrial infrastructure and position the automotive sector as a contributor to national development.

Receiving the award on behalf of the council, NADDC’s Director-General, Joseph Osanipin, expressed appreciation for the recognition, describing it as encouragement to deepen the agency’s efforts in the sector.
Osanipin said the council would continue to pursue policies and programmes targeted at strengthening Nigeria’s automotive industry and supporting initiatives aimed at empowering Nigerians through technology and innovation.
