The Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA) has distributed foodstuffs and cash gifts to over 10,000 widows, the aged and people living with disabilities in the State.
The psychosocial support programme, which was captured under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) by the World Bank, Oyo State Government and the Federal Government, focuses on providing succour to those in need of economic survival.
Abideen Adetokunbo Adeaga, Chairman, OYCSDA, while addressing the beneficiaries at Alegongo Community Hall, Akobo in Lagelu Local Government, on Monday, appreciated the governor of Oyo State for providing funds for micro-projects in various communities across the State as well as supporting the needy under the Psychosocial programme.

He stated that his second year in office as the Chairman of the Board of OYCSDA had witnessed tremendous success in the areas of sustaining the tempo of development impacts in communities across Oyo State.
He urged the people of the State to continue their support for the present administration in the State and take good care of micro-projects in their domains, so that the project’s lifetime would be sustained.
“We appreciate God and our amiable governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for giving our agency the leverage to impact people’s lives through the implementation of micro-projects in 144 communities in the areas of portable water, erosion control, education support and community healthcare centres, as well as this psychosocial support for those in dire economic conditions.

“Over ten thousand beneficiaries are enjoying this psychological support programme across Oyo State, which means as we are distributing the welfare packages here in Ibadan, people are doing the same in Oke-Ogun, Oyo, Ibarapa and Ogbomoso”, he claimed.
While speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries in Ibadan, Hamzat Ade appreciated the State Government for factoring the need for support for the aged, widows and people with disabilities into good governance, praying that Oyo State would never retrogress and promising that the people of the State would continue to support the administration.
