Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Bauchi for the burial of renowned Islamic scholar, the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Shettima was received by Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport along Kano Road at exactly 1:50 p.m.

In Shettima’s entourage were Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Adviser; Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ali Pate, Minister of Health; Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Others included Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf; Niger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago; Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum; former Bauchi Governor Ahmad Adamu Mu’azu; and Senator Umar Shehu Buba.
Also at the airport were the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar; Sheikh Ibrahim Saleh; former Chief of Air Staff and 2023 Bauchi State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sadique Baba Abubakar; former Bauchi North Senator and 2023 Bauchi State governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Haliru Dauda Jika; and Bala Wunti.
The burial is scheduled to hold at 3:00 p.m. at the Bauchi State Eid Prayer Ground along Gombe Road.
The late Sheikh Dahiru died at the age of 102, leaving behind 100 children, 406 grandchildren and 100 great-grandchildren.
