Pro-Tinubu support groups are springing up in the South-South Region as activities towards the 2027 general election gradually gain momentum across the country.
In Rivers State alone, more than 100 of these support groups have emerged to promote President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and also work for his re-election in 2027.
Christian Ahiakwo, Coordinator, Renewed Hope Amalgamated Support Groups, Rivers State, disclosed this at the South-South zonal inauguration of Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement on Saturday in Port Harcourt.
He said the surge in the number of pro-Tinubu support groups in the state is due to the achievements of the Tinubu administration and his group’s positive impact in the Iives of people.
“Because of the progress made so far (in the implementation of the renewed hope agenda), we have more than 100 support groups. Many still want to join but we don’t want to be in a hurry; we’re taking it one after the other. From the renewed hope, we have given scholarships through the NDDC. From the renewed hope we’re doing empowerment,” he said.
Earlier, National Secretary, The Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement, John Odekina Abimaje, said the renewed hope agenda was a strategic development framework guiding the holistic policies of the federal government under President Tinubu.
Abimaje listed increased economic opportunities, improved security, health and education as some of the key targets of the agenda and urged members of the renewed hope grassroots movement to promote the policies of President Tinubu at the grassroots to swell his support base in the South-South ahead of the 2027 general election.
National coordinator of the group, Chinedu Chris Chinedu, said the despite challenges confronting the nation, President Bola Tinubu has made some achievements that should be commended. He emphasized that the goal of the renewed hope grassroots movement is to work for the president’s re-election.
“The effort of the president cannot be ignored. You must acknowledge that presently, things have improved. Fuel price today is below N1000. The price of rice has come down. The value of our currency has improved. As we move forward, let us be focused on the primary objective of this movement which is to return President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
National director of APC support groups, Salisu Yahaya and King of Koko Kingdom of Port Harcourt, Frank Iritamunoke Hezekiah Koko, wished the newly inaugurated group success.
Rivers State coordinator of the renewed hope grassroots movement, Ibifuro Iwo-Brown, assured of his members’ commitment to the cause of working for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
