The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of five of its officers by bandits in Sabon Sara village, Darazo Local Government Area of the State.
Ahmed Wakil, the Command Public Relations Officer, who disclosed this in a statement, said five officers paid the supreme price, two were injured, while a certain number of bandits were neutralised.
Wakil said, “On 22nd November, 2025 at about 1240hrs, an intelligence at the command disposal from a Good Samaritan disclosing that on the same day at about 1130hrs, a team of Tactical Team personnel comprising Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Mobile Police 10PMF Bauchi, Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), and State Intelligence Department (SID) were ambushed by unidentified youths, while on visibility policing patrol to prevent, mitigate and manage farmer–herder conflict within and around Sabon Sara Village via Darazo.
“Sadly, the ambush attack resulted in the death of the following officers; DSP Ahmad Muhammad (SID), ASP Mustapha Muhammad (10 PMF), Inspector Amarhel Yunusa (10 PMF), Inspector Idris Ahmed (10 PMF) and Corporal Isah Muazu (AKU).”
He said the following officers sustained various degrees of injuries; Inspector Isah Musa (SID) and Inspector Yusuf Gambo (SID).

Wakil said upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Auwalu Ilu, led a team of reinforcements to the scene, rescued and evacuated both the injured and deceased personnel to the General Hospital in Darazo for medical treatment, and deposited remains of the deceased at the morgue.
“Intense efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the perpetrators within and around the area; meanwhile, the Command is fully committed to ensuring that the criminals responsible for this heinous act are brought to justice,” he added.
Similarly, Abdullahi Askira, the Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly has confirmed the abduction of 13 female farmers in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
The victims, all from Huyim District, were reportedly seized on Saturday while travelling to Mussa District to harvest their farm produce.
Abdullahi, who represents Askira-Uba constituency, said the 13 abductees who were between the ages of 15 and 20 years went to their farmland in Mussa farming area to harvest their crops when the assailants took them away.
He said, “The victims are among those relocated to a relatively peaceful community of Mussa to earn means of their livelihoods through joint community farming.
“One of the victims managed to escape and had been reunited with her family on Sunday morning.
“But, the other 12 victims, mostly between the ages of 15 and 20 years, are still in the custody of the abductors whose whereabouts remain unknown,”Abdullahi said.
According to him, residents of Huyim are said to farm in Mussa due to limited access to their own farmlands.
Boko Haram terrorists burn houses, vehicles in Borno community
Meanwhile, residents said that Boko Haram terrorists stormed Magumeri community at about 1:15am on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and forcing people to flee before setting buildings ablaze in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State.
Confirming the incident in a telephone interview, Nahum Daso, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said no life was lost.
He said, “On the 23rd of November, at about 1:15am, unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram, they invaded into Magumeri town, where they burn down some houses and vehicles. However, they did not kill anyone.”
