Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has ordered troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA to ramp up efforts toward the immediate rescue of students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Shaibu issued the directive while, addressing frontline commanders and troops, charging them to adopt intelligence-driven strategies and sustain unrelenting day-and-night pursuit of the attackers.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by David Adewusi, Media Information Officer, Operation FANSAN YANMA, noting that the directive was given when the Army Chief visited the area where the abduction occurred Monday.
“We must find these children. Act decisively and professionally on all intelligence. Success is not optional,” the Army chief declared.
As part of the ongoing operation, Shaibu also met with local vigilantes and hunters, describing them as vital partners in the security response. He encouraged them to use their familiarity with the terrain to support military efforts aimed at tracking down criminal elements.
“Together, we will restore peace and ensure children can attend school safely,” he assured.
Earlier in the visit, the COAS paid condolence visits to Abubakar Ibrahim Allaje, the traditional ruler of Danko, and Rabi Musa Magaji, the Principal of GGCSS Maga.
