The Gwallagan Mayaka and Dandango communities in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, have expressed their appreciation to Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, governor of the state, for the construction of a 6km road.
The delegation of the communities, led by Ibrahim Abubakar, traditional leader of Dandango, to the office of Titus Saul Ketkukah, Commissioner for Works and Transport, noted that the construction of the road marked the first ever motorable access road in the communities’ history.
Abubakar said that before the road construction, the communities had suffered severe hardship due to the absence of accessible roads and facing challenges such as insecurity, limited economic activity, and isolation during the rainy season.
The traditional leader expressed appreciation to the state government for transforming the lives of the people through the landmark project.
He further said that the construction of the road has brought tremendous relief and progress to the area, transforming it from a rural settlement into a growing urban centre where businesses, social amenities, and essential services can now thrive.
In his response, the commissioner thanked the communities for the visitation, saying that the Ministry of Works and Transport remains dedicated to ensuring strict supervision and quality delivery of all infrastructural projects across the state.
Ketkukah also reiterated Governor Bala Mohammed’s unwavering determination to bring development closer to the people, in line with his administration’s vision of inclusive growth and transformation across all communities in Bauchi State.
The commissioner assured them of the government’s commitment to the completion of the road project.
