Álex Marquez delivered a commanding performance to win the final sprint race of the 2025 MotoGP season in Valencia on Saturday, his third sprint victory of the year.
The Ducati-Gresini rider, who has already secured second place in the championship behind his brother and world champion Marc Márquez, crossed the line 1.149 seconds ahead of KTM star Pedro Acosta, with Fabio Di Giannantonio completing the podium.
Starting second on the grid behind Marco Bezzecchi, Álex Márquez snatched the lead at turn one and never looked back.

Bezzecchi was also passed by Acosta at turn two and eventually slipped to fifth, though the result was still enough for him to clinch third place in the championship, delivering Aprilia’s first-ever top-three finish.
Two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia’s struggles continued as he finished 14th, dropping him to fifth in the final standings behind Acosta.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s main race, Márquez said he is targeting a weekend sweep to finally complete a sprint–Grand Prix double.
“It’s one of those goals that has never quite come together,” he told DAZN. “I didn’t expect to win today; there were stronger riders, but we put together an almost perfect race. Tomorrow we need to take a step forward in the warm-up, and we’ll see what happens.”
Jorge Martín, the 2024 world champion, finished last in 22nd as he returned from a fractured collarbone. Last year’s Valencia round was cancelled due to devastating flooding in the region.
