A prosecution witness on Tuesday told a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja how billions of naira were allegedly funneled from the Office of the National Security Adviser’s (ONSA) operations account into private companies linked to Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (NSA),
Testifying before C.O. Agbaza, (Justice)
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) first prosecution witness (PW1), an investigator with the anti-graft agency, gave a detailed account of how funds were allegedly moved from government coffers to firms associated with Dasuki and his co-defendants.
Dasuki is being prosecuted alongside a former General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba-Kusa, and two companies, Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited on an amended 32-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving a total of N33.2 billion.
According to a statement by Dele Oyewale, Head, Media & Publicity, EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, the EFCC investigator told the court that the agency had written to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) seeking information about several companies that featured in the investigation.
These included Acacia Holdings Limited, Aravcaria Farms Limited, Reliance Referral Hospital Limited (RRH), and Pinmax Security and Gas Limited.
The CAC’s response, which was tendered in court as exhibits E1 to E4, revealed that Acacia Holdings Limited was owned by the second defendant, Baba-Kusa, while Aravcaria Farms Limited and Pinmax Security and Gas Limited were sister companies to Acacia Holdings.
According to EFCC, the filings also showed that Baba-Kusa’s wife was a major shareholder in Acacia Holdings, holding 1.8 million shares.
The witness further disclosed that EFCC obtained account statements and account opening documents for the ONSA’s operations account, number 101419287 domiciled at Zenith Bank Plc.
EFCC revealed that payment mandates received from the bank indicated that the account was debited several times at the instruction of the first defendant, Dasuki.
According to the witness, one payment mandate directed N650.75 million to be transferred from the ONSA operations account to Acacia Holdings Limited’s accounts with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and EcoBank, as well as to RRH’s account with First Bank of Nigeria.

“Further analysis of Acacia Holdings’ UBA account (number 1017394650) revealed that apart from the initial N600 million inflow, another N200 million was transferred from the ONSA account on October 9, 2014”, the agency noted.
The witness said the company’s account statement also showed a pattern of subsequent withdrawals and transfers to individuals and related firms.
“These included a N3 million cheque withdrawal by one Atahiru Maccido, the financial controller of Acacia Holdings, on October 14, 2014, and a N1 million transfer to Aravcaria Farms Limited the following day. Additionally, two separate N1 million debits were made for the settlement of a director’s loan”, the statement reads.
The court adjourned the case to January 13, 14, and 15, 2026, for the continuation of the trial.
