Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ enters the Nigerian market

In a bid to continually meet the needs of consumers in the Nigerian market, Samsung Electronics has launched its newest flagship device, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which has a sleek ergonomic edge design made from metal and glass.

The unveiling at a media event in the Samsung Head office in Lagos marks another step of innovation for the company as the pioneer of a unique big screen phone with dual curved edge design.

Speaking during the launch, Brovo Kim, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa explained that the look and feel of the S6 Edge+ design portrays sophistication and excellence and the sleek phone which doubles as a tablet has a gorgeous curved design and the beautiful combination of metal and glass combined for durability.

 Kim who mentioned that the device will available this week in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium also noted that the company is bringing these two technologies together, by offering a device that is intuitive and efficient with a bigger screen, allowing consumers achieve more with their smartphone.

“At Samsung, we pride ourselves at being the first in developing the newest technology that improves the way we live, communicate and shape the world. We pioneered large display phones and then led the way with curved glass technology,” he said.

According to him, another exciting feature of the device is the Live Broadcast, which allows users share or broadcast a video in real time over YouTube, adding that users can easily share special occasions as they happen with family and friends, as broadcasts can be sent directly from the camera app and friends and family can be invited to watch via text messages, e-mail, and social networking platforms.

He further explained that  the video features allows users combine multiple short videos into one single video, giving each video a different look and feel-one can be slow motion while another black and white in a single video giving users exhilarating collage of videos that can be uploaded to different social media platforms.

While shedding more light on other features of the phone, Emmanouil Revmatas, Director, Information Technology and Mobile, Samsung Electronics West Africa said the Fast Wireless Charging is an impressive feature that takes just two hours to fully charge a discharged battery and compatible with most wireless chargers available and with the super-fast charging feature, once the device is connected to the fast-charging power adaptor, the device is fully charged in 90 minutes when the battery is completely out.

“The device combines the exceptional features of the Galaxy S6 Edge including the People Edge, Edge Lighting and Information Stream. One of the biggest improvements is the addition of app shortcuts to the Edge Screen. Users can now add shortcuts to five favourite apps and access them with just a swipe, saving you a tap or two,” he noted.

In his words, “Two years ago, we took a decision to deliver a superior display technology, great camera and best-in-class design, which led to the coming on stream of the S6 Edge. The dual edge design was like nothing else out there and the curved display resonated with our customers.”

He reiterated that Samsung is bringing everything consumers love to a big screen by improving on the features and design, giving a sharp, brilliant display and the curve creates an added sense of depth.
