Nigeria’s Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to building a more transparent and efficient trade ecosystem through digital transformation and policy coordination across ministries.
Speaking during her keynote address at the Moonshot 2025 Conference held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, Oduwole described the National Single Window initiative as one of the most consequential trade policies in Nigeria’s history, noting that it will significantly reduce bottlenecks in the movement of goods and services.
“The National Single Window is one of the most consequential policies we are implementing. It requires coordination across government and delivers a lot of transparency and efficiency in the movement of goods and services,” the minister said.

She explained that the initiative was part of the government’s broader strategy to digitise trade processes, eliminate bureaucratic barriers, and make Nigerian businesses more competitive both locally and globally.
The minister also announced the launch of a Trade Facilitation Portal, a digital platform designed to provide real-time trade intelligence and access to vital information that will enable the seamless movement of goods and services within Nigeria and across borders.
“The Trade Facilitation Portal is about giving our businesses the tools they need, access to information, transparency, and the intelligence to trade smarter,” she said.
“We are building systems that empower rather than obstruct.”
She urged Nigerian businesses to be more deliberate about their market strategies, advising them to identify sectors and regions where they can achieve meaningful growth and long-term competitiveness.
“Businesses must be strategic and focus on markets where they can win,” she emphasised.
“It is not just about expansion; it’s about impact and sustainability.”
The Moonshot 2025 Conference, a gathering of innovators, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders, focused on accelerating Africa’s economic and digital transformation through bold ideas, collaboration, and technological investment.
Oduwole’s remarks were widely received as a strong signal of the government’s renewed commitment to creating a more enabling environment for trade, entrepreneurship, and innovation in Nigeria.
