Two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was subjected to a surprise drug test by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) officials while out for dinner in Dubai, according to the Daily Mail.
The 35-year-old, dining alongside Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, was interrupted when UKAD officers arrived at the luxury restaurant to conduct a random test on the former world champion.

Joshua, who has not fought since his knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, is currently recovering from elbow surgery that postponed his return to the ring until early 2026.
Hearn filmed the moment, posting: “Most tested fighter of all time. Hasn’t boxed for a year. Out for dinner in Dubai and UKAD rock up.”

Joshua played along, smiling into the camera, flexing, and joking: “Ed, they must have seen my chin ups.”
As part of the process, Joshua appeared to provide a blood sample, later sharing a photo with a plaster on his arm. Keeping the banter alive, he posted a video of himself doing pull-ups by the pool, captioned with a nod to UKAD’s timing.
UKAD, working in conjunction with the British Boxing Board of Control, has the authority to test athletes at any time and in any location, with boxers required to provide their whereabouts. Failure to comply can result in suspension.
Joshua’s long-awaited comeback is expected in early 2026, with Matchroom confirming plans for a tune-up fight before a potential blockbuster farewell bout.
