The stakeholders under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP,) All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Special Democratic Party (SDP) of the northern senatorial district from Taraba state have endorsed Agbu Kefas, the state governor, as the sole gubernatorial candidate to run for a second term come 2027.
The governor was endorsed during the zonal stakeholders engagement meeting, held in Jalingo, Taraba state capital, on Wednesday.
Although, the governor was elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 and has not defected to any other political party, the stakeholders, cut across all political lines within the state, offered the governor the free ticket to run a second term in the 2027 governorship election.
Alhaji Aminu Jouro Hassan, the chairman, Jalingo local government council, who doubles as the chairmaof the n Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) Taraba state chapter, in his opening speech onbehalfe of the stakeholders, declared that the governorremainsn the most trusted person for the numbeone r job of the state.
“Your Excellency, with your track records, we have no doubts, having seen what you have done in the last two years, and also havingwatchedh your zeal for massive transformation of our dear state, we, the stakeholder,s have endorsed youn today, Wednesday, 24th September 2025, fora second term in office. Hassan stated.
In a large voice vote across thousands of both stakeholders and the general public who graced the occasion, all were in support of the second term as observed by our correspondent.
Prominent personalities in the state who were behind the endorsement at the engagement meeting include Jolly Name, the former governor of the state who is a member of the APC, Baido Tijos, 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the SDP in Taraba state, Sen. Anthony Manzo, a strong member of the APC and Alhaji Tafida Abbas Tafida, the Emir of Muri.
