The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has congratulated Super Falcons and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie following her fourth-place finish in the Women’s Yashin Trophy category at the Ballon d’Or 2025 awards in Paris on Monday night.
Nnadozie, Africa’s reigning Best Goalkeeper for two consecutive years, was also named Goalkeeper of the Tournament at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where she helped Nigeria clinch a record-extending 10th title.

“We heartily congratulate Chiamaka Nnadozie on her fourth-place finish in the race. It is a commendable feat given the calibre of goalkeepers she was up against. Finishing fourth is a big achievement, and we believe in her capacity to win this trophy very soon,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said.
Sanusi also praised Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu, who secured fourth place in the Women’s Coach of the Year category.
“Coach Madugu’s feat further underscores the fact that the NFF was right to have given him the Super Falcons’ head coach role, validated by leading the team to victory at the WAFCON in Morocco. We congratulate him and wish him success in future awards,” he added.
Nnadozie finished behind Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton, who won the Women’s Yashin Trophy, Gotham FC’s Ann-Katrin Berger, and Barcelona’s Cata Coll, while placing above Arsenal’s Daphne van Domselaar.
In the coaching category, Madugu was named alongside winner Sarina Wiegman of England, Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor, Brazil’s Arthur Elias, and Arsenal’s Renée Slegers.
