Africa’s fast-evolving digital landscape will take centre stage this week as the New Media Conference (NMC) marks its 10th anniversary in Lagos, bringing together executives from MTN, Omnicom Media Group, Wakanow, and some of the continent’s most influential creators.
The milestone edition, scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025, at The Podium in Lekki, will convene leaders across technology, media, and entertainment under the theme “A Decade of Disrupting New Media: Shaping Africa’s Future.”
Confirmed speakers include Lakinbofa Goodluck, public relations manager at MTN Nigeria; Yinka Adebayo, group executive director at Omnicom Media Group; Bayo “Lion” Adedeji, group CEO at Wakanow; Yemisi Odusanya, better known as “Sisi Yemmie,” one of Nigeria’s top YouTubers; and comedian Layi Wasabi.
They will be joined by filmmaker Malik Afegbua, TVC’s Olukunle Folarin, strategic communication advisor Yemi Orimolade, and digital food creator Tolani Tayo-Osikoya, popularly known as ‘Diary of a Kitchen Lover.’
The gathering will feature keynote sessions, panel debates, breakout workshops, and exhibitions spotlighting startups and brands operating within Africa’s digital economy.
A highlight will be the unveiling of the NMC 100, a curated list of individuals and organisations who have defined Nigeria’s digital media space over the past decade.
Since its inception in Lagos, the New Media Conference has grown into a pan-African platform, staging editions in Nairobi and Accra and attracting an audience that spans industry professionals, startups, policymakers, and digital natives.
Support for the 2025 event comes from the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Lagos Cultural Mission, ProvidusBank, Wakanow, Onburd, BlackHouse Media, and ID Africa, among others.
The 10th anniversary underscores not only the growth of the conference but also the rising importance of digital media in shaping Africa’s economic and cultural future, with Lagos positioning itself at the center of the continent’s creative economy.
“This 10-year milestone is both a proud moment and a reminder of the work ahead. When we began in 2015, our goal was to create a space where media, technology, and creativity could meet to shape Africa’s future. Today, we see an ecosystem that is bigger, bolder, and more connected than ever before,” said Oluwatosin “Olori Supergal” Ajibade, conference founder and media entrepreneur.
