As part of activities marking World Pharmacy Day 2025, Medbury Pharmaceuticals has announced a national dialogue aimed at addressing one of Nigeria’s most pressing healthcare challenges—improving medicine access and strengthening supply chains in public hospitals.
The event, themed ‘Pharmacy Beyond Dispensing: Financing and Optimising Supply Chains for Better Healthcare’, will hold on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM, and will be streamed live on LinkedIn and YouTube.
According to the organisers, the dialogue is designed to bring together thought leaders, policymakers, Chief Medical Directors (CMDs), and healthcare practitioners to explore practical solutions for financing and optimising Nigeria’s pharmaceutical supply chain.
Among the distinguished speakers are Itunu Akinware, MD of Medbury Group; Ogumor, Medical Administrator of R-Jolad Hospitals; Abiola Oshunniyi; and Pharm Azuka Okeke, who will join a panel of healthcare innovators and government representatives to highlight the role of hospital leadership in building more resilient systems for drug access.
Speaking ahead of the event, Yewande Adekoya, COO of Medbury Pharmaceuticals, said, “World Pharmacy Day provides a critical opportunity to rethink how pharmacy practice can extend beyond dispensing. At Medbury, we believe that ensuring reliable drug supply and sustainable financing models is key to closing the medicine gap in our hospitals.”
The dialogue is expected to provide actionable insights for healthcare leaders and policymakers, with the ultimate goal of strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare system and ensuring patients have consistent access to essential medicines.
