Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is a major doubt for Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League opener away to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker, who picked up an injury in the first half of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, was left out of the squad for their subsequent clash with South Africa in Bloemfontein.

Fresh concerns emerged on Tuesday when Osimhen was absent from Galatasaray’s final training session at the Metin Oktay Facilities in Kemerburgaz.
The club released 19 official training images, but the former Napoli forward was not among the players pictured.
While his absence casts serious doubt on his availability, a final decision will be made after consultations between the medical team and head coach Okan Buruk.
Osimhen’s potential absence could be a huge blow for the Turkish champions, given his impressive record against Frankfurt; he has scored three Champions League goals against the German side, his highest tally against a single opponent in the competition.
