Guinness World Records (GWR) has officially recognised Nigerian chef and former record holder, Hilda Baci, and Gino for setting a new record for the Largest Serving of Nigerian-Style Jollof Rice.
GWR announced the feat in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, confirming that Baci, in partnership with food brand Gino, achieved a serving of 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds 9 ounces) in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The post read: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The record-breaking attempt took place on Saturday, where Baci prepared 200 bags of Basmati rice in a giant pot before an excited crowd of food lovers, fans, and notable personalities.
Baci, who first gained international attention in May 2023 with her 100-hour cook-a-thon in Lagos, continues to cement her reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading culinary figures.
