Man United's Andre Onana considering Trabzonspor loan move

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is considering a loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, with the Super Lig club exploring reinforcements following recent transfer activity.

Onana had previously been linked with Galatasaray, but they opted to sign Ugurcan Cakir, who completed a €36m (£31.2m) move from Trabzonspor on 2 September after starting Turkey’s World Cup qualifying win over Georgia.

With Cakir’s departure, Trabzonspor have turned to alternatives and believes Onana could make a significant impact. The 28-year-old is currently on international duty with Cameroon, while the Turkish transfer window remains open until 12 September.

United’s goalkeeping situation has been fluid since the deadline-day arrival of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

Although club officials insisted they were prepared to retain four senior goalkeepers, head coach Ruben Amorim has expressed a preference for a leaner squad, particularly in the absence of European football.

Onana’s potential exit, along with that of Altay Bayindir, has been under consideration, with veteran Tom Heaton also part of the senior goalkeeping group at Old Trafford.
