“Sedentary living takes eight years off your life, whoever developed Intron is saving lives.” — Judge, Ogun State Judiciary
Not too long ago, Intron crossed an important milestone in its journey of transforming justice delivery in Nigeria.
The Judiciary of Ogun State shared firsthand feedback on how our Speech-to-Text (STT) solution is reshaping courtroom processes, and what we heard was nothing short of transformational.
For decades, the Nigerian courtroom has been defined by long hours, slow proceedings, and overburdened judges.
A major challenge has been manual note-taking, where judges handwrite every word during hearings. This slows down proceedings, fuels inefficiencies, and strains the health of those on the bench.
But change has arrived
Since adopting Intron’s STT platform, powered by audio recording tools, file uploads, and intelligent transcription, the rhythm of the courtroom has shifted. Hearings that once lasted four hours (9 AM to 1 PM) now wrap up in two to three hours.
Judges spend less time on the bench while attending to more cases, lawyers are more productive, and proceedings are sharper and more impactful. And as the value becomes clear, more courtrooms are beginning to embrace this technology, steadily transforming how justice is delivered.
One legal professional put it simply
“My Lord no longer has to write during proceedings. He now focuses entirely on what is being said, ensures everything is properly recorded, and we’re achieving much more in significantly less time than before.”
Another reflected:
“Before now, we had to write down everything. It was exhausting and slow. Now, we can focus on what matters, justice.”
Perhaps, the most surprising insight came from a judge:
“If Intron had originally been built for the legal system instead of healthcare, we would have made faster progress. The legal sector is far more ready to adopt advanced technologies than we often assume.”
This experience in Ogun State offers a glimpse into the future of justice: one where technology empowers people, reduces burnout, and accelerates outcomes without compromising due process. A future where health, efficiency, and justice go hand in hand.
To the judges, clerks, and legal professionals in Ogun State, thank you for your openness and vision. At Intron, we are not just transcribing words; we are rewriting the story of how justice is delivered in Nigeria and beyond.
