SharedHomes has said it manages more than 200 houses and serves more than 2,000 renters in Lagos, Ibadan, and Abuja.
Founded by Olayemi Olawumi (Nifemy), SharedHomes says its model spreads the cost of rent across residents and uses online tools for booking and payment. The founder said the model helps people move to areas near jobs and schools without the cost barrier.
“Our mission is to help young individuals survive in the city while enjoying comfort and convenience. We are committed to reducing accommodation scarcity in major Nigerian cities,” says Olayemi.
The company said it aims to make city housing more accessible for people who work or study in those cities.
SharedHomes offers apartment arrangements that allow renters to take room leases or to join leases with other renters. The company said its arrangements include terms for deposit and payment schedules and access to maintenance and dispute support.
The platform runs community events and a support channel. The company said those services aim to help residents build ties and solve issues that affect life in the house.
The firm plans to expand beyond Lagos. It said it will scale operations in Ibadan and Abuja and will test new locations in other regions. It said expansion will focus on houses that meet standards for safety and service and on partners that can manage operations.
Property analysts said shared living can increase supply where housing is limited and remove barriers that block access to city jobs and study. Renters who use the platform said they value the ease of booking, the split payments, and the networks the houses create.
SharedHomes said it will continue to register houses and to work with agencies to increase options for renters. The company invited landlords and agents to contact the office to list properties and join the network.
