Nuban Cares, a leading Nigerian beauty and skincare brand, has launched Nigeria’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) skin decoder designed to analyze skin conditions and recommend personalized solutions. The groundbreaking technology was unveiled at the 17th Edition of the Lagos Makeup Fair Series, Nigeria’s premier beauty industry gathering.
The AI-powered tool provides detailed skin analysis, identifying issues such as dehydration, hypersensitivity, and other concerns, and matches users with tailored solutions from Nuban’s product range.
Stella Ndekile, Founder and CEO of Nuban Cares, highlighted the significance of the innovation during her presentation at the event. She stated, “Today we are launching the Nuban Cares AI skin decoder. Skin care products in Nigeria are usually based on recommendations unless one goes to a dermatologist or a licensed skin specialist. Our AI application is designed to scan the skin, detect whether it is dehydrated or hypersensitive, and pinpoint any problem. Then, working with the backend of our website, it matches the issue with an already existing product. It picks the problem and provides the solution.”
Ndekile, who is also a Medical Laboratory Scientist, explained that her professional background and personal passion for beauty inspired the development of this technology. “I’m a medical lab scientist who got into beauty. My first brand is Nuban Beauty, while Nuban Cares is the baby brand. I had a bad acne experience, and going through that, I always had good skin care insight. Being a medical expert, I started my journey into skincare two years ago. In my practices as a medical expert, we have the AI analysis tool, and my passion for beauty inspired me,” she shared.
Omolola Faleye, Founder of the MakeUp Fair Series emphasized its role as a platform for business growth, innovation, and meaningful connections within the beauty industry. “This isn’t just a fair; it’s a platform for business growth, innovation, and making real connections in the beauty industry. We had 12 incredible beauty brands that launched new products, our Beauty Face-Off competition brought all the summer vibes, and of course, the energy, the deals, and the opportunities for attendees to discover, shop, and connect directly with these brands,” Faleye said.
She added that the Makeup Fair Series has become a touchstone for the industry, where trends are set, collaborations are born, and talent is discovered. “By bringing brands, enthusiasts, makeup artists, and consumers together, we’re creating a more vibrant, professional, and accessible beauty ecosystem in Nigeria. Each edition inspires growth, raises expectations for quality, and encourages innovation, ultimately shaping the future of the Nigerian beauty industry.”
The launch of Nuban Cares AI skin decoder marks a significant advancement in the integration of technology and skincare in Nigeria, offering consumers a scientifically backed, accessible alternative to traditional dermatological consultations.
