REBIRTH Music signed artiste, Maxee, has released a new single titled Blue Story, signalling a new phase in his career.
The track, released on 1 August 2025, is the lead single from his forthcoming project. It draws inspiration from Chris Brown’s Under the Influence, but Maxee presents it as a separate narrative told from his perspective. The single combines R&B with Afro-fusion while focusing on themes of temptation, heartbreak, and emotional vulnerability.
Speaking on the release, Maxee said: “I wanted to create something that mirrors the vibe of Under the Influence but tells a different story. Blue Story is fictional, but the emotion in it is very real. It’s a new direction for me—more refined, more personal, and it is more sonically global.”
Born Moses Adelakun in Oyo State, Maxee started singing in church at the age of 10. He first gained wide attention with National Cake, a satirical anthem that went viral and earned him a large following online. The song led to his nickname, “Mr National Cake”, and cemented his place as a creative voice among Nigerian youth.
Maxee has since grown his fan community, including a WhatsApp group of over 1,000 listeners. With Blue Story, he seeks to expand beyond viral success and establish himself as an artiste with a long-term vision.
According to REBIRTH Music, the track marks the beginning of a new phase of Afro-R&B, where African artistes blend multiple genres to connect with global audiences. Blue Story is available on all major streaming platforms.
