She emphasized that the collaboration aligns with LASU’s mission of advancing learning and academic excellence, noting that the partnership with ICSAN represents a synergy for knowledge propagation and sustainable development.
According to her, LASU has continued to advance the frontiers of knowledge through research, scholarship, and innovation for the transformation of individuals and society. She affirmed that the new collaboration would deepen Nigeria’s human capital development by combining academic scholarship with professional training.
In her remarks, ICSAN President, Ukpanah, described the agreement as the culmination of sustained efforts by both institutions to establish a mutually beneficial collaboration. She observed that both ICSAN and LASU share a common vision of fostering growth and sustainable national development through the nurturing of human resources.
She noted that LASU students who participate in ICSAN’s qualifying programme under the linkage scheme would enjoy significant benefits. By the time they complete their academic studies, they would also have attained professional certification as Governance Professionals, thus gaining a dual advantage in both academic and professional qualifications.
“Our vision,” Ukpanah stated, “is to be the foremost professional institution in Corporate Governance and Public Administration, while our mission remains the promotion and advancement of the efficient administration of commerce, industry, and public affairs. ICSAN has a long history of sustaining strong collaborations with stakeholders, including reputable academic institutions, training centres, and regulators, all in pursuit of learning, skills development, and the socio-economic advancement of Nigeria.”
She further explained that ICSAN’s professional qualifying scheme is deliberately designed to broaden participants’ competencies across law, finance, business, and governance, thereby equipping them for dynamic careers across diverse organizational structures.
“All our linkage programmes are benchmarked against ICSAN’s high professional standards. Graduates who complete these programmes and qualify as chartered secretaries will be well prepared to assume senior roles in governance, law, finance, strategy, leadership, and administration.
“ICSAN has collaborated with several local and international organisations and institutions, and we will continue to expand such partnerships in pursuit of our mission.” She concluded.
