The FA also pledged to work with officials, the clubs, and relevant authorities to ensure the culprit faces action. Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola later confirmed the individual responsible had been identified.
Despite the distressing incident, the 25-year-old Ghanaian international went on to deliver a remarkable performance, scoring twice in the second half after Liverpool had taken a 2-0 lead. His second strike was a stunning solo effort from deep inside his half.
Bournemouth captain Adam Smith praised his teammate’s resilience.
“I don’t know how Ant’s played on, to be honest, and come up with those goals. He was a little bit down, but he showed incredible strength.”
The Premier League, FA, and both clubs have reiterated their commitment to eradicating discrimination from football.
