Leaders representing over 300 ethnic nationalities from the Middle Belt region on the Plateau have passed a vote of confidence in Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Ngo Josephine Piyo, his deputy. The endorsement followed a crucial gathering where the leaders deliberated on the state’s current political and developmental trajectory.
Speaking to Journalists at the end of their meeting on Monday in Jos, Abraham Dogo, a professor and spokesperson of the group, praised Governor Mutfwang’s administration for its commitment to peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance. According to him, the governor has earned widespread commendation for his steady and people-oriented leadership style since assuming office.
The ethnic leaders highlighted that the peace and security fostered by the administration have been instrumental in creating a stable environment, which is essential for economic growth and social cohesion in the diverse Plateau region. They acknowledged the governor’s efforts in curbing communal tensions and fostering dialogue among various ethnic groups.

On infrastructure, the leaders commended the government’s investment in roads, schools, healthcare, and other critical sectors. They noted that these projects are already having a direct impact on the quality of life of the people and are a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to lasting development.
Equally, the endorsement cited Governor Mutfwang’s emphasis on inclusive governance, stressing that all ethnic groups across the state now feel represented and heard in the decision-making process. This inclusiveness, they said, has helped bridge long-standing divides and fostered a greater sense of belonging among citizens.
“We, the leaders of over 300 ethnic nationalities of the Middle Belt on the Plateau, gathered here, and after a crucial deliberation, we wish to express our utmost confidence and pass a vote of confidence in the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and his deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo.

“This is because of His commitment to peace, security, infrastructural development, and inclusive governance, which has earned our highest commendation. We endorse his genuine leadership qualities and look forward to continued progress under his administration”.
The leaders maintained that their vote of confidence was not only a show of appreciation but also a strong message of solidarity and encouragement for the governor to sustain the current pace of development and reform. They expressed optimism about the future of the state under the present administration.
The ethnic leaders reaffirmed their trust in Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and vision for Plateau State. They called on citizens to continue supporting the administration in its quest to deliver lasting peace, prosperity, and unity across the state.
