Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided the Green Legacy Hotel, located within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, arresting several people suspected to be involved in internet fraud.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, reportedly disrupted a pool party at the hotel.
Eyewitnesses said the midnight raid caused panic, with many guests fleeing in different directions as gunshots rang out.

A viral video of the incident showed people scampering for safety while EFCC operatives moved in to make arrests.
According to sources, the raid was conducted by operatives from the Lagos Directorate of the EFCC, who seized more than 20 luxury cars and other valuable items from the premises.
The exact number of suspects apprehended has yet to be confirmed.
The incident occurred just five days after a similar EFCC operation in Ogun State, where operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested a suspected internet fraudster found in possession of two locally-made pistols during a raid on K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area.
That operation also saw 55 other suspects taken into custody.
On social media, an X user identified as A. Ayomide shared that he had narrowly avoided being caught in the Sunday raid.

“Literally left my house past midnight to go to OOPL, got there and the crowd was too much. I don’t like the settings, my guy doesn’t like the settings, so we were just at the car park. Left around 1:30. Twenty minutes later, I get home and I’m getting calls that EFCC is raiding OOPL,” he posted.
Vitalis Ortese, the Managing Director of OOPL Ventures, confirmed the incident.
“Yes, they did. There was an incident this morning. We will find out and we will let you know.”
The EFCC is yet to release an official statement on the raid, the number of suspects arrested, or the specific charges they may face.
