…Marks 4th anniversary
Waka Community International Foundation, a Nigerian nonprofit organisation, has spotlighted its achievements in the last four years on Times Square billboard, aimed at projecting its trajectory as an African-led community foundation.
“This billboard is not just a celebration of our 4th anniversary. It’s a signal to the world that African-led community initiatives can shape global conversations about health, wellness, and purpose. Waka makes sense—and now the world is watching,” Lorenz Mba, founder, Waka Community International Foundation, stated.
According to him, the Times Square billboard impression is a landmark achievement for Nigeria and the African nonprofit community. He stated that the Foundation has empowered thousands to take control of their well-being while fostering cross-cultural unity.
Mba disclosed that the Foundation aimed to inspire healthier, happier lives across generations and continents, with the rallying tag ‘#WakaMakesSense,’ to promote wellness among its over 58,000 members.
Founded in 2021, Waka Community International Foundation has grown into a global health and wellness movement, leveraging programs that promote walking, healthy eating, adequate hydration, and quality sleep with members in over 48 countries.
“This historic moment makes Waka Community International Foundation the first Nigerian organisation to independently secure a paid advertisement on one of the world’s most recognisable commercial platforms—Times Square.”
According to Mba, the Times Square feature coincided with Foundation’s continued expansion, digital platform development, and community outreach efforts across Africa, North America, and Europe.
“Waka’s bold presence in Times Square is both a celebration and a statement: African solutions, powered by purpose, belong on the world stage,’ he said.
