The Acting Provost of the Bauchi State College of Education Technical Dass, Madalla Ajemasu has assured the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project that they would secure, maintain the operational efficiency of the nursery.
Ajemasu gave the assurance during the handing over of the Climate Resilience Project to the institution, held at the premises of the College in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State. He expressed his appreciation to ACReSAL for the timely intervention.
He reaffirmed the institution’s readiness to ensure the sustainability of the project and to align its use with the overall objectives of enhancing environmental awareness and academic development.
The Provost pledged continued collaboration with ACReSAL and other partners to support future initiatives.

According to him, “This initiative reflects ACReSAL’s unwavering dedication to building enduring partnerships between development agencies and academic institutions. It is part of a broader effort to equip future generations with the tools, knowledge, and infrastructure necessary for sustainable agriculture, climate action, and community driven development.”
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Bauchi State Project Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL), Ibrahim Kabir said that the event marks the formal transfer of ownership, supervision, and maintenance responsibilities of the infrastructure provided.
Kabir said that the intervention aligns with ACReSAL’s commitment to enhancing climate resilience, supporting regenerative agriculture, and fostering sustainable development through education.
While Kabir Ibrahim Gamawa, who is the ACReSAL director, said that the core objective of the Plant Nursery Project, which is to produce high-quality seedlings of various species to support reforestation, promote sustainable farming practices, and serve as a practical training facility.
Gamawa noted that the nursery would play a key role in environmental conservation and provide hands on learning opportunities for both students and the surrounding community.
The ACReSAL director urged the Provost of the College and its management to take full responsibility for the protection, upkeep, and effective utilization of the nursery and its associated facilities, expressing confidence in their capacity to preserve the vision and goals of the project.
