The outgoing Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has expressed deep gratitude to the people of the council area for the trust and support shown throughout his eight-year tenure, as he commissioned a series of legacy projects to mark his final days in office.
Oshinowo also praised his team, political appointees, civil servants, and community members for their role in driving the administration’s success.
“As I hand over today, I do so with a full gratitude and a clear conscience. We gave our best, stayed true to our people, and built a legacy that will outlive this administration,” he said.
“Mayor Dele Oshinowo’s tenure is a reflection of the Lagos we are building one defined by service, impact, and accountability,’ the governor said.

Speaking at the event, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the outgoing chairman for his infrastructural development in the council in the last eight years, saying that there has been a total transformation of the council since he assumed office.
He stressed that the outgoing chairman had written his name in gold for his effort in the last eight years, and called for support for the new chairman.
“I have been to this council more than three times in six years. That alone shows the volume of people-focused initiatives being executed here,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Sanwo-Olu urged other council leaders across the state to emulate the Agboyi-Ketu model, emphasizing the importance of continuity, vision, and people-centered development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu led the commissioning on Friday at the LCDA Secretariat, where five key projects were officially unveiled as part of the outgoing administration’s final achievements.
The newly commissioned projects include: Otunba Bushura Alebiosu Multipurpose Building, featuring 84 offices, a legislative chamber, Agboyi-Ketu Tech Hub, to drive digital innovation at the grassroots, and
Oba Taiwo Adesegun Lamina Sports Centre, a 550-seater capacity facility.
He declared that Agboyi-Ketu had become a model for grassroots development, earning national recognition as the number one local council in Nigeria due to consistent delivery of impactful projects.
Tolani Abubakar, the new chairman of the council, in her acceptance remarks, pledged to build on Oshinowo’s legacy and deepen the developmental strides initiated by the outgoing administration.
“l am committed to sustaining this vision and ensuring that Agboyi-Ketu continues to grow in infrastructure, empowerment, and inclusivity,’ she said.
