The organisers of the Nigeria Pitch Awards have extended their heartfelt congratulations to the Super Falcons for their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the final.
In a statement released in Abuja, Dr Shina Philips, President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, praised the Super Falcons for their bravery and resilience in securing their 10th continental title after a thrilling comeback victory over hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in the final.

“Our girls demonstrated the never-say-never attitude that defines the Nigerian spirit,” Dr Philips stated.
“Coming from two goals down in just 25 minutes to win the final was a display of true courage and unity. This victory should serve as a source of hope and motivation for all Nigerians, especially in these trying times.”
Dr Philips also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian people, commending the continued support for sports development.
“We applaud the President for backing the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Their synergy is key to the progress of our national teams across all levels,” he added.
Highlighting the broader impact of the victory, Philips expressed optimism that the Super Falcons’ success would inspire other national teams to achieve glory on continental and global stages.

The Super Falcons’ unbeaten run to the 2025 title saw them win six matches, score 14 goals, and extend their legacy of dominance, having previously won the tournament in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024.
