Nigerian youths have been advised to desist from taking illicit drugs and engage in developmental activities in order to move the Country forward.
Sunday Eyebiokin of the Grace of Mercy Ministry, Irese Road, in Akure, the Ondo State capital, who made the advice during his message to the members of the Church, stressed that drug abuse had become rampant among the youths and a big problem in the society.
According to him, some youths engage in drug abuse as a result of curiosity, low self-esteem, ignorance, imaginary pressure, relief of anxiety and other reasons.

Eyekiokin, who said that drug abuse also causes damage to organs of the body, said, “Drug abuse is not beneficial in any way, but rather causes severe damage to the body system.
“My advice goes to all the youths who are here listening to me that you stay away from the consumption of all kinds of dangerous drugs that are capable of destroying your lives.
“Why must you drink or smoke something that you know is bad for your body or that will put you into trouble? Addiction to drugs can push one to engage in vices, so as to get money to buy drugs.”
The cleric, however, urged parents to pay more attention to their children and wards.

“Parents must also be observant, ask questions when you see something strange with your children, conduct a secret investigation and follow up.
“Stay away from bad friends, do not allow any friend to lure you into taking drugs, be God-fearing, have your own personality for the sake of Nigeria,” he said.
Eyebiokin, who is the District Superintendent of Grace of Mercy, however, said that all hands must be on deck to rid the society of the menace and its consequences.
