Ola Olukoyede, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is set to deliver the keynote address at a high-level Policy Dialogue on critical issues affecting Nigeria’s real estate ecosystem.
The event, organised by Law Corridor, a leading Nigerian law firm, will take place on Wednesday, August 6, in Abuja.
According to a press statement signed by Ayokunle Erin Jacob, group lead for Real Estate, Construction & Infrastructure at Law Corridor, the dialogue will bring together key players from the public and private sectors involved directly or indirectly in Nigeria’s real estate value chain.
“The Flagship Dialogue will convene key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, and other actors directly or indirectly involved in the real estate value chain in Nigeria to engage in robust, solutions-driven conversations on the menace of fraudulent practices undermining the sector,” Jacob said.
Among dignitaries expected at the event are Richard Yunana Dauda, the acting executive secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi, managing partner of Omaplex Law Firm; Kehinde Ogunwumiju, managing partner of Afe Babalola & Co.; and Harry Erin, director of the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML).
The discussions will focus on key challenges confronting the sector, including illegal property sales, fake developers, unlicensed agents, fraudulent investment schemes, compliance gaps, anti-money laundering frameworks, and access to legal remedies.
