LAPO Microfinance Bank has announced its sponsorship of two independently organised TEDx events—TEDxZamaru and TEDxEnugu—as part of its ongoing support for youth-led innovation and social development in Nigeria.
The bank said the sponsorship reflects its interest in platforms that promote critical thinking, civic engagement, and locally driven solutions among young people. It also aligns with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education, decent work, and reduced inequality.
“Supporting these TEDx events is in line with our efforts to engage constructively with young Nigerians and contribute to conversations that matter,” said Oluremi Akande, director of marketing and corporate communications at LAPO Microfinance Bank.
TEDxZamaru and TEDxEnugu are expected to convene participants from a range of fields, creating space for dialogue, storytelling, and the exchange of ideas. Organisers say the events aim to highlight local perspectives on challenges with global relevance.
LAPO Microfinance Bank has previously supported similar events, including TEDxLagos and TEDxUNIMED, where discussions focused on themes such as inclusive finance, entrepreneurship, and social equity.
