A gang of armed bandits on Sunday kidnapped four traders and looted their shop items in two villages of Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The two villages that the armed bandits kidnapped and looted shops included Gyali and Mansur, both in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying that a large number of bandits, through Yankari Game Reserve, invaded Gyali Village and ransacked five local provision stores.
Ahmed Wakil, Chief Superintendent of Police and Police Public Relations Officer, stated this through a press release he made available to newsmen in Bauchi, adding the bandits made away with four people who were the owners of the shops, namely, Tasiu Malam Yahaya, 32; Hakilu Ubayo, 15; Abdul Aziz Suleiman, 28; and Rabiu Ganjua, 16; all of Gyali, to unknown destination(s).
“On the 20th July 2025, at about 15.00 hours, that is (Sunday), the Command received information from Mansur Outstation through the Village Head of Gyali via Mansur.” CSP Wakil noted.

The Spokesman of the State Police Command said on receiving the information, Sani Omolori-Aliyu, Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State, instructed D.P.O. of Alkaleri to lead a Patrol team to the scene of the incident, which had other relevant security agencies, such as the Vigilance Group and the hunters Group.
“Presently, the area is calmed, but our operatives are still combing the bushes to see if they could be able to rescue the people that were being kidnapped and possibly effect their rescue. We are waiting for a response, and possibly arrest the perpetrators of these dastardly acts”, he added.
