In a collaborative partnership for sustainable environmental protection and increased revenue generation in the State, Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has assured State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) of a stronger tie.
Jide Aina, the General Manager of KWEPA gave the assurance when representatives of the revenue agency paid him a courtesy visit.
The delegation from the KW-IRS was led by Omotayo Ayinla, the Director of Ministries Departments and Agencies, who represented Folashade Omoniyi, the Executive Chairman of the agency.
During the visit, both agencies expressed their commitment to working together as strategic partners to drive community development and improve the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).
Aina, the General Manager of KWEPA reaffirmed his resolve to operate an open-door policy and implement proactive environmental strategies that will promote a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for all residents of Kwara State.
“Our mission goes beyond sanitation; it includes building sustainable partnerships that will advance public health, environmental sustainability, and economic growth. We are committed to working with relevant stakeholders like KW-IRS to achieve these goals”, he explained.
Responding on behalf of KW-IRS, Olusola Adeola pledged the support of the Revenue Service in assisting KWEPA to fulfil its mandate. He emphasised the importance of synergy between Government agencies to improve service delivery and boost the State’s revenue base.
He further assured that KW-IRS would continue to provide the necessary support and technical guidance to KWEPA to enhance compliance and efficiency in environmental protection efforts.
The visit ended with a mutual understanding to deepen collaboration in areas of environmental compliance, public sensitisation, and revenue drive, all aimed at advancing the socio-economic development of Kwara State.
