Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has arrived at the National Assembly complex on foot.
The lawmaker, who parked her vehicle outside the premises, walked in through the main MOPOL gate alongside a group of activists chanting solidarity songs.
Her arrival has heightened already palpable tension at the National Assembly, where an unusual security build-up was observed earlier in the day.
Heavily armed personnel from the police, civil defence, Department of State Services (DSS), and the National Assembly’s Sergeant-at-Arms were seen frisking all entrants, including staff, journalists, and visitors.

Our correspondent counted no fewer than 100 security operatives stationed across the complex.
The tight security follows Akpoti-Uduaghan’s earlier declaration to resume legislative duties today despite her suspension.
In anticipation, long queues of vehicles were seen at the Assembly’s main gate, as security officials thoroughly screened vehicles to prevent her from sneaking into the premises.
As of the time of filing this report, she is yet to enter into the main gate of the National Assembly complex successfully.
She is currently battling security operatives at the main entrance into the complex.
