As political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured the electorate that the party is well-prepared to meet the expectations and developmental needs of the people if returned to power.
Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker and Special Adviser to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Civic Engagement, gave the assurance during a consultation visit by one of the party’s governorship aspirants, Bola Oyebamiji, to Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at a gathering of party stakeholders and supporters on Friday, Oyintiloye said the APC had taken deliberate steps during its previous administration to understand and document the needs of Osun citizens through the Civic Engagement Office, an agency established by the Oyetola-led government.

“The blueprint to hit the ground running is already documented towards the expiration of the Oyetola’s administration and our incoming governor will definitely have a solid start with that document and his other initiatives that are already being fine-tuned,”
Oyintiloye emphasized that the people of Osun would not regret voting the APC back into power, noting that the foundation laid by the former administration would enable a smooth takeoff and rapid delivery of developmental projects across sectors.
He called on residents of Obokun and other local governments to rally behind the APC and its aspirants in the build-up to the August 8, 2026, governorship election.
In his remarks, Oyebamiji, who is currently the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), reaffirmed his commitment to building on the legacy of Oyetola if given the opportunity to govern the state.
“The civic engagement agency would be resuscitated to bridge the gaps between the people and government.
“The document is available. The administration of our boss, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola invested in collating the needs of the people.
“What is being done with the document now? Let’s be patient. We shall get there and do our best to implement the content of that document,” Oyebamiji said.

He also pledged to prioritize issues affecting civil servants, artisans, and other key socio-economic groups in the state, assuring the people of inclusive governance and meaningful development.
Oyebamiji expressed confidence in his chances of clinching the APC ticket and defeating the incumbent governor if nominated by the party.
