Popular music star, 2Face Idibia has release a new album titled ‘The Ascension’. It is his sixth album.
The alum released by the 960 Music Group is a collection of 17 songs that highlight the progressive growth of 2Face as a member of the PlantashunBoyz (BlackFace, Faze & 2Face), to the debut of his solo album, Face 2 Face, and his 10-year sojourn to becoming Africa’s number 1 artiste.
‘The Ascension’ includes a range of both mid and up tempo Hits, along with the timeless lyrics the smooth melodies fans have associated 2Face with for the past 15 years. The album has an international flair, and boasts features from World Music heavyweights – Shurwane (Trinidad), Marchel Montano (Trinidad), Bridget Kelly (New York), Kim (France), Fally Ipupa (DRC) and Nigerian artiste’s Vector, Iceberg Slim, Rocksteady, Dammy Krane, and the legend Sir Victor Uwaifo.
Mark Redguard, who recently assumed the role of chief executive officer of the 960 Music Group, says working with 2Face Idibia has been a wonderful experience. “It provides a rare opportunity to participate in creating good music for music lovers and Fans from around the world, while contributing strong copyrights to the music legacy and history of both Nigeria and Sub-Sahara Africa,” he says.
‘The Ascension’ released as both an Economy (moderately priced) and Premium album. The limited edition Premium album includes a Jewel Case with16-page insert, and it’s available exclusively at Konga.com;while the digital version is available on Spinlet.com.
The Ascension artwork was designed by an A-List creative team, including celebrity stylist, Jekwu; award winning photographer, Imole “Tobbie” Balogun of TCD Photography; and album jacket and layout by Janne Kukla. Outdoor Billboards showcasing the album art are in 10 high traffic locations across Lagos.
